LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE)- Fourteen and three years old.

That's how old Trey Wwicker and Davion Powell were when they died earlier this month.

As the Powell family's case moves forward with the man wanted by police in connection with their son's killing, the Zwicker family searches for answers.

One by one, people placed toys and stuffed animals at a memorial, for 3-year- old Davion Powell and 14-year-old Trey Zwicker. Both of the boy's parents enveloped by the community at a remembrance ceremony Sunday afternoon.

"I know from this day forward and many more to come that I won't never take it for granted again." Terry Zwicker, Trey's father said. "If there's something that happens in the community, I'm gonna be with them, because they're here for me."

Fourteen year old Trey Zwicker's body was found near Liberty High School May 11th. Life hasn't been easy for his father since then

"To be honest with you, most of it has been a blur." Zwicker said.

Police have yet to make an arrest in his killing.

"I fell strongly they will get the person who's involved with this and they will see justice." Zwicker said.

Three year old Davion Powell died May 16th after he was hit in the head by gunfire that came through an apartment window near downtown.

The suspect in that case, Roderick Moss, turned himself in to police Friday. Powell's mother offered advice to Zwicker's family.

"Everyday you wake up, thank God that you're son is in a better place." Rodericka Bryant, Davion's mother said "You don't have to go through this no more. You don't have to suffer any more. He doesn't have to go through the pain anymore. He's fine." She said.

"Probably him and Davion are talking right now. Looking down on us" She said.

Zwicker says he won't stop searching for answers

"There's a hundred things that pass through my mind today and giving up is right at the top of the list. But, I know Trey wouldn't give up. Trey would move forward." He said.
