INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Police say two ambulances on separate emergency runs collided as they passed through the same intersection on Indianapolis' west side.
The accident happened at 16th Street and Tibbs Avenue shortly before noon. The eastbound ambulance was transporting a patient to a hospital, while the northbound ambulance didn't yet have a patient on board. Police say both were using their lights and siren.
No one had to be hospitalized as a result of the accident. Both ambulances were towed away, while police say a third ambulance had to be brought to the scene to transport the patient.
