Family: Hotel fall survivor aware of surroundings

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The family of a Kentucky woman in critical condition after falling 10 stories from an Atlanta hotel window says she's doing "better than anticipated," but are puzzled about what led to the fall.

LaRhonda Hill told The Lexington Herald-Leader that her cousin, 25-year-old Ciara Williams, is aware of what is happening around her Sunday, a day after surviving the fall at the W Atlanta-Midtown.

Witnesses told police that 30-year-old LaShawna Threatt and a second woman were "play wrestling" around 3:15 a.m. Saturday when they crashed into a window and fell onto a slanted glass ceiling above a sunroom.

Rescuers found Threatt, the mother of a 15-year-old daughter, dead on the sunroom roof.
