LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Here in Louisville and across the river in New Albany, the Salvation Army is trying to keep everyone safe from the heat.

In New Albany, the Salvation Army thrift store will serve as a cooling station on Grant Line Road and will be open from 10 am to 5 PM on Saturday June 4th. Anyone needing to get out of the heat can cool off at the store.

The Salvation Army on Green Valley Road will also be open Sunday through Friday from 9 am to 5 PM.

In Louisville, once temperatures hit 95 degrees, Salvation Army officials will put out the white flag at their office at 823 South Brook Street and invite anyone to come in and cool off.
