Ford to manufacture 3-cylinder cars

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Ford is looking to step down in engine size. The company says it plans to offer a three-cylinder engine in future small cars.

The engines will use ford's "Ecoboost" technology that is used in much bigger units, including the F-150 pickup truck.

The three-cylinder configuration will offer the performance of four cylinder motors, but with better fuel efficiency.
