LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – 10 people are recovering after an accident between a TARC bus and a car in downtown Louisville Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened at the intersection of 1st and Jefferson Streets around 2 p.m.
According to MetroSafe, four ambulances and an EMS supervisor were sent to the scene to treat the injured. Our cameras saw at least two people being taken to an area hospital by Louisville Metro EMS.
Kay Stewart, a TARC spokesperson, tells WAVE 3 that coach 2915 was on the westbound Preston-18th Street route when a car came across all lanes of traffic and struck the bus on the left front corner and the bike rack.
Stewart said the injured included nine passengers and the bus driver. All were treated at the scene by Louisville Metro EMS and taken to area hospitals.
