Documents: Ind. woman confessed to double murder

SALEM, Ind. (AP) - Court documents say a southern Indiana woman told police she fatally shot her boyfriend's father and uncle, whose bodies were found in an outbuilding near Salem.

Indiana State Police say the victims have tentatively been identified as 54-year-old Timothy M. Orman and 48-year-old Roy L. Orman, both of Salem. Timothy M. Orman is the father of 25-year-old Timothy R. Orman, who faces murder charges along with 23-year-old Tammy M. Spengler of Palmyra.

The Courier-Journal of Louisville, KY., reports documents filed Friday in Washington Circuit Court say Spengler called sheriff's officers this week to confess to the shootings.

A judge entered not guilty pleas for Orman and Spengler Friday and set trial for Dec. 6. Jail officers didn't know who had been appointed their public defenders.
