LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 5 Office in Louisville advises motorists to be aware of impending construction on Interstate 64 in Franklin and Woodford Counties and on Interstate 65 in Bullitt County.
Work is scheduled to begin July 7th on installation of median cable barriers on Interstate 64 between mile point 57.2 in Franklin County and mile point 65.7 in Woodford County. Construction will begin approximately two weeks later on Interstate 65 in Bullitt County between mile points 103.8 and 109.3.
Crowley Company, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota was awarded the contract for this project in the amount of $1,543,863. The work is scheduled for completion by August 15, 2011.
During construction, lane closures will be possible Sundays through Thursdays from 8 p.m. each evening until 7:00 a.m. the following morning. Shoulder closures may be in place during daytime hours. The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 55 MPH.
