LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Reports of a man down in Old Louisville turned into a HazMat situation after the man apparently committed suicide using hazardous chemicals.
According to MetroSafe dispatch, a call came in about 12:30 p.m. reporting an unconscious male in a car.
Police tell WAVE News that once emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found a note on the car that read: "Caution. There are hazardous materials inside." Officers then called in HazMat crews.
LMPD is calling this a death investigation.
The area around the scene was shut down and people in the area were being asked to stay indoors.
