USPS moving jobs from KY to Evansville

Posted: Updated:
EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Starting on July 1, the post office will be transferring mail-processing positions from Bowling Green, Kentucky to Evansville and Nashville.

According to a document posted on the USPS website, about 26 jobs total will be lost in the transition.

In Evansville, the jobs that are moving will be coming to the Petersburg Road processing center.

The determination on how many jobs go to which city depends on local vacancies in both cities, and how many of the transferring positions need to be filled.

The move will save the USPS about $3.1 million a year.
