LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – For the second time in three days, a Kentuckiana mother has been arrested for leaving her kids insode a hot car while she went shopping.
Louisville Metro Police say 26-year-old Yunia Flores was shopping at Plato's Closet on Outer Loop just before 2 p.m. Tuesday when officers found a one-month-old in the backseat of a hot car.
A witness told police Flores left the baby and a toddler in the car with the windows up and the car turned off. But after authorities were called, the witness said Flores came out of the store and took the toddler out. About one minute before the police arrived, Flores returned to the car and turned the air conditioner on.
Flores is charged with wanton endangerment.
Coming up tonight on WAVE 3 News at 11, we'll talk with the witness who called police.
