16-year-old girl hospitalized after drive-by shooting

LOUISVILLE (WAVE) - Metro Police are looking for a gunman who opened fire on a group of teens overnight.

Dispatchers say they got the call to the 1100 block of south 32nd Street around 3:40 Monday morning.

According to LMPD spokeswoman Officer Carey Klain, a group of teens was outdoors when a car drove up and someone started shooting at the crowd from the vehicle.

The victim - a 16-year-old black female - was shot in the backside and taken to University Hospital for treatment. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police are looking for a late model Buick - possibly silver or gold - in connection with the shooting.
