LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) – During court proceedings Thursday, more information was released as to why police charged a Lexington couple with child abuse.
Cheryl and Elisha Christopher were in court as a detective testified. Moments after the testimony, Cheryl Christopher had an apparent medical seizure.
According to Lexington Police, the Christopher's two daughters say their mother put them in cages with dogs, tried to drown them after taping their eyes and mouths and tried to suffocate them with plastic shopping bags.
The court bound over the case to a Fayette County grand jury.
