LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - They often have bad reputations but, these four legged friends and their owners are determined to change that.
Pit bulls were the stars of "Pitty Fairness", a fundraising art and music fair at Central Park in old Louisville.
Organizers were founding members of Saving Sunny Incorporated.
Two years ago, Sunny was tossed off the Clark Memorial Bridge in downtown Louisville and rescued from the Ohio River by a restaurant server who was working nearby.
The goal was to raise money to help with medical bills associated with rescuing abused pit bulls.
Maureen Keenan of Saving Sunny Inc., said the event is "To raise awareness about pit bulls and magnificent dogs they are, terrific pets, and try to shatter some myths about them and also create community around our love of dogs."
The event also featured Shorty Rossi from the Animal Planet show Pit Boss.
