EVANSVILLE, IN (WAVE) - Indiana State Police say three-time Kentucky Derby-winning jockey Calvin Borel was arrested and jailed Saturday night in Evansville, Ind., for driving while intoxicated.

State Police say a trooper was patrolling U.S. 41 around 10:00 p.m. when Borel was stopped for making an unsafe lane movement near Diamond Avenue.

Police say Borel had a blood alcohol content over the legal limit. ISP says Borel was arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail. Borel's longtime agent, Jerry Hissam, told WAVE 3 the jockey was released Saturday night, shortly after being jailed.

Borel was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Hissam says Borel has been taken off his Sunday mounts at Ellis Park in nearby Henderson, Ky., where he has been riding this summer.

Borel won the Kentucky Derby in 2007, 2009 and 2010. His 2009 win was the second biggest upset in Derby history.
