EquuSearch founder arrives to help find Katelyn Markham

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) -

The founder and director of Texas EquuSearch, Tim Miller, is in the Tri-State to assist in the search for Katelyn Markham. Miller and other volunteers spend most of Tuesday staging a command center, and getting organized.

"We're going to be doing some mapping, we're going to be doing some driving, the first thing we're going to do is find that spot that we're going to be using for a command center," Miller said.

Miller says they've got their work cut out for them mainly because there's so little  information to direct them.

"Katelyn's case, there's nothing expect, she vanished, I mean we've got one fact, that she is missing, many other cases we get, there might be some information on cell phone towers, there might be something on surveillance," Miller said.

The search will begin Thursday at 8:00 am, where volunteers will meet at Fairfield West Baptist Church, which has been designated as the command center for the search.

"We'll have team leaders and they'll be trained, we've got some other search teams that have contacted us, that's more than willing to come and help and be a part of the team leadership," Miller said.

Markham, 22, was last seen Aug. 13 and reported missing by her fiancee the next day.

Texas EquuSearch is a mounted search agency that has been involved in over 1,200 cases, including high profile cases such as Natalee Holloway and Caylee Anthony.

Katelyn's family contacted EquuSearch to get them involved. The organization has 1,400 members nationwide.

Miller landed at the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport at around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. He met with detectives and Katelyn's family.

Meanwhile, the reward information on the disappearance of Katelyn Markham is now five times higher.

Anyone with information on her disappearance could receive a $25,000 reward.

Officials with CrimeStoppers say Markham's family and friends have added $20,000 to the previous $5,000 in reward money that came earlier from an anonymous donor.

Volunteers participating in the search must be 18 or older and have a photo ID -- volunteers should also bring a bag lunch and  water for the day.
