Fort Campbell soldier killed in Afghanistan

FORT CAMPBELL, KY (WAVE) - On September 3, a 101st Airborne Division Soldier was killed in action.  Fort Campbell issued this explanation: "gunshot wounds received from enemy small arms fire while conducting a partnered dismounted patrol with the Afghan Uniform Police in Kandahar province, Afghanistan."

Specialist Christopher John Scott, 21, of Tyrone, N.Y., was a Military Policeman. He has been in the Army since in July 2009 and stationed at Fort Campbell since May 2010.
He received several honors including the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon.

Scott is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Tammy Scott of Tyrone, NY.
