WAVE-TV Vice President & General Manager
Take a moment at 1 p.m. Sunday to stop and remember not only the horrific events of 9/11 ten years ago, but the ensuing weeks. Patriotism flowed. We appreciated our loved ones more. We made changes in our lives.
Resolve Sunday to share time more readily with your family and our community. Resolve to thank service members, firefighters and police officers more fervently. Resolve to be the change agent who makes our country better.
We will continue to honor the legacy of the innocent victims of the terrorist attacks on our nation by doing all this and more. We are the land of the free and the home of the brave. We can complain openly about the ills of our nation and have the right to do something about them.
The tone of our country is less civil than it was 10 years ago and the challenges greater, but if we turn Sunday's moment of silence into many moments of positive action in the days, months and years ahead, the tone will change and the terrorists will be silenced.
