CRESTWOOD, KY (WAVE) - A pedestrian that was hit and killed by a CSX train in Crestwood has been identified.
Oldham County Police Officer Mike Head tells us that 33-year-old James Dewitt of Crestwood was pronounced dead at the scene by the Oldham County Coroner's Office.
Police say the accident happened around 9 o'clock Friday morning at the intersection of KY 146 and KY 22 in Crestwood.
Investigators say the train was traveling west bound when Dewitt walked directly into its path as it crossed through the intersection. The train was sounding its horn, all crossing gates were down and the signals were flashing at the time of the collision.
Head says after further investigation, it was revealed that Dewitt suffered from a medical disorder that possibly contributed to the accident.
