Lauren Jones is an Emmy-nominated Meteorologist. Her on-air work has also been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists.
Lauren is originally from Columbus, Indiana and she is thrilled to be back in Louisville. She's lived in the Ohio Valley her entire life and loves forecasting the challenging weather Kentuckiana has to offer. While she likes a good snow storm, Lauren was drawn to Meteorology through severe weather. As a child, she was terrified of storms and eventually that fear turned into a fascination.
Prior to coming to WAVE 3, Lauren was the Weekend Evening and the 4pm Weekday Meteorologist at WXIN, Fox 59 in Indianapolis Indiana. While in Indianapolis, Lauren was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists for her special reports on historic flooding in Indiana. Before working at Fox 59, Lauren was the weekend morning and evening meteorologist at WLKY here in Louisville. Lauren started her career at WTVW in Evansville, Indiana as the Weekend Evening Meteorologist.
In her spare time, Lauren loves to spend time with her family and friends, watch/play sports, and read.
You can catch Lauren's forecasts every Saturday and Sunday from 6-8am on WAVE 3 Weekend Sunrise, and throughout the week.
