Lauren joined WAVE 3 News in 2011 as a meteorologist, and she remains part of the WAVE 3 Storm Tracking Team. She holds the National Weather Association Seal of Approval.
Lauren attended Mississippi State University prior to landing her first job as weekend evening meteorologist at WTVW, the Fox affiliate in Evansville, Indiana. She also worked for WLKY in Louisville as the weekend evening and morning meteorologist. In 2011, Lauren left Indianapolis, where she was the weekend evening and 4 p.m. weekday meteorologist at Fox affiliate WXIN.
Lauren is an award-winning news anchor, winning the Best Anchor Emmy Award in 2015 and the Best Anchor Associated Press Award in 2015 and 2016. Lauren was nominated in the Best Anchor Emmy category again in 2016. She is also an Emmy nominated meteorologist, and the Associated Press has recognized her weather forecasting and reporting. Louisville Magazine and Today's Woman magazine have nominated Lauren several times for "Best of Louisville" awards and "Louisville's Most Admired Woman" respectively.
Lauren is originally from Columbus, Indiana. She is married to WDRB meteorologist Jude Redfield. They have two daughters, one son and a cat.
