Dr. Judy GreenLOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Even though she had been subpoenaed to appear, Judy Green was a no show at Monday's hearing seeking her removal from office.
Even though Green was not present and had submitted her resignation from the Metro Council Friday, the Metro Council Court decided Monday afternoon to go forward with the hearing. By the rules of the council, Green's resignation will not take effect until the council's next scheduled meeting with is on Thursday, Sept. 22.
Derwin Webb, Green's attorney, made a motion to dismiss the removal charges and not hold the hearing. However the 20 members on the council court voted against the motion. Webb then excused himself from serving as Green's attorney and walked out of the chambers.
The Louisville Metro Ethics Commission has already found that Green mishandled city grant money.
