MACKVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police have released the identity of a central Kentucky man who was killed after his car hit a cow that was in the road.
Kentucky State Police say 27-year-old Harold Lewis Jr. of Mackville in Washington County apparently swerved to miss a cow in the northbound lane of Kentucky 433 and hit a second cow that was in the southbound lane. The car went off the road, ran through a fence and wound up in a creek bed, where it caught fire and burned.
The wreck happened around 5:45 a.m. EDT about 2 ½ miles north of Mackville.
Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.
