Numbers low for river shuttle service

The Spirit of Jefferson on a shuttle run from Indiana on Sept. 14

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The operators of the Spirit of Jefferson have released information about its shuttle service between Indiana and Kentucky.

Officials tell us 176 people used the shuttle Wednesday. Only 58 people took the Spirit from Indiana to Kentucky, while 118 used it to get from Louisville to Indiana.

According to the Spirit, some of those who used the shuttle service just wanted to take an inexpensive boat ride.

Thursday morning 48 people used the shuttle to get to Louisville.

Spirit of Jefferson operators are still looking at only operating the shuttle service for a two week trial run. But they say if more people use it, the shuttle service could be extended.
