Jaimie Weiss is an award winning journalist who joined the WAVE 3 news team in August 2011. Though she grew up right outside Cleveland, Ohio, Jaimie already calls Kentucky home.
She's already been recognized for her work at WAVE, with two Emmy nominations for breaking news and continuing coverage.
Jaimie spent a little more than three years reporting at our NBC affiliate in Lexington, LEX 18. There she covered anything and everything from all corners of the Bluegrass, including the Kentucky Oaks and the Kentucky Derby. During her time in Lexington, Jaimie was nominated for two Emmy's, both for her General Assignment Reporting. She was also recognized as one of the best reporters in the state by the Kentucky Associated Press.
Before Lexington, Jaimie spent two years at WTVW in Evansville, Indiana doing everything from reporting to producing to anchoring. She is a proud graduate of Ohio University. Jaimie earned her Bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism from the Scripps School of Journalism. While in college, she worked for WOUB-TV. She says that's where she gained her love for news.
Jaimie couldn't be happier to be in Louisville. Recently married, she loves exploring the city with her husband. The two especially enjoy out all the delicious local restaurants. While she's not out working on a story, you can usually find Jaimie in the kitchen cooking up new recipes or outdoors riding her bike or walking her dog.
