LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police Chief Robert White talked to WAVE 3 on Friday about his son's arrest earlier this week.
According to a police report, 30-year-old Robert White III got into an argument with his wife about divorce. It says he held her against her will, punched her in the face and threatened to kill her and her family.
Chief White says his son will have to take responsibility for his actions.
"My wife and I are thankful my son's wife is going to be okay," said Chief White. "Obviously we're very disappointed and concerned about our son and his actions but it is our son."
The chief's son was ordered not to have any contact with the victim.
He remains at Metro Corrections.
