JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) - Police are looking for a suspect in an early morning shooting.
The call came into 911 dispatchers at 3:54 a.m. that one man had been shot in the 1600 block of Allison Lane, and another person had taken off.
Police say two men with bandanas covering their faces rode up to the Q-Mart gas station on bikes and tried to rob the clerk. The clerk then pulled a gun and there was an exchange of gunfire.
Police tell us that the clerk was not hit and one of the would-be robbers is in surgery at University Hospital.
Jeffersonville Police, Clark County Deputies, and Indiana State Troopers are on the scene with K9 Officers searching the area for the other suspect. Both bikes were left at the gas station.
Investigators don't know if the man on the loose was the gunman or his accomplice.
Police are looking at surveillance video.
