Men receive new shoes at The Healing Place

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Volunteers also helped the homeless at The Healing Place step by step. Dozens of men were fitted for new shoes.

The Red Wing Shoe Company donated 12,000 pairs of shoes this year as part of the "Soles For Souls" program.

"When your feet hurt you hurt all over, the guys we took care of today, me and women are going through a recovery process and these help meet all those goals," said Dr. George Quill, orthopedic surgeon.

Louisville was just one location doing this. The shoes were distributed in similar programs across the country.
