Two arrested over gift card switch

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A fight over a gift card at a Metro area Walmart landed two people behind bars.

According to Louisville Metro Police, on November 23 Kimberly Gunter and Nicholas Basham tried to steal a Visa gift card worth $500 from the Walmart Neighborhood Store in the 5300 block of Dixie Highway.

The arrest report states the pair went to check out and the clerk activated the card. However once the card had been activated, Gunter tried to switch it on the clerk.

Police say Basham and the clerk got into a scuffle and the couple ran off with the gift card.

Gunter is a former Walmart manager and is facing theft charges of stealing from her employer.
