LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A series of loud noises across the Metro has been traced to military training.
The booms were caused by heavy artillery training at Fort Knox by soldiers from Fort Campbell. The training was being conducted on the southeast portion of the post.
A Fort Knox spokesperson said the low ceiling and clouds over the area carried the sound of the artillery longer distances than normal.
The training was expected to be finished late Wednesday.
