LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A city leader suspended as a result of a WAVE 3 investigation is back on the job.
Mike Heitz, the director of the Louisville Metro Parks Department, was suspended without pay on October 26, one day after being confronted by WAVE 3 Troubleshooter Eric Flack for drinking and then driving his city take home vehicle.
Our hidden camera investigation caught Heitz drinking at a local bar then driving his city SUV on 5 of 6 consecutive work days.
After learning what we found, Mayor Greg Fischer suspended Heitz for 30 days and permanently took away his take home vehicle.
