LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - More than 3,500 angels were left when the adoption deadline for the Salvation Army Angel Tree program passed on Sunday, December 11. But it's not too late to help.

WAVE 3 is working for the underprivileged in our community with today's Angel-a-Thon. Call 502-571-3333 between now and 8 p.m. to make a monetary donation. The Salvation Army will do the rest, purchasing gifts for the angels who were not adopted.

New this year, the Salvation Army will have a storefront next to Office Depot at the Summit, where you can adopt one of the forgotten angels on Wednesday and Thursday, December 14 and 15 only. When you finish shopping, you can take your gifts there.

If you adopted an angel but have not yet dropped off your gifts, you may do so at the Salvation Army office at 911 South Brook Street in Louisville or the New Albany location at 2300 Green Valley Road.

It takes at least 50 people per day to distribute gifts to families. The distribution process begins this Friday. Click here to volunteer or donate.

The Salvation Army Food Angel program continues through December 17. Go to any Kroger in the Louisville/Southern Indiana area, and with a $25 donation, you can feed an angel family Christmas dinner.
