MULDRAUGH, KY (WAVE) - A stretch of Dixie Highway in Muldraugh was closed in both directions for several hours after a four-car crash Monday afternoon killed one person and injured two others.

According to Master Trooper Norman Chaffins of the Kentucky State Police Elizabethtown post, the crash happened around 3:45 p.m. at Dixie Highway and Brandenburg Station Road when a black Honda Civic that was heading southbound crossed the center line and hit a white Honda Accord.

The Accord then struck the left rear side of a Dodge SLT pickup while the Civic crossed back over the center line and hit a silver Ford Focus.

The driver of the Civic, 35-year-old David Pandy III of Vine Grove, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The drivers of the Accord and the Dodge pickup were taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. They were treated for minor injuries and released. The driver of the Focus was not injured.

Chaffins said all of the drivers appeared to have been wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Dixie Highway was reopened around 7 p.m.
