Ronnie Vasquez
LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (KCBD) -
KCBD NewsChannel 11 has confirmed
that County Constable for Precinct #3, Ronnie Vasquez, resigned effective
December 31, 2011. He had been arrested twice last year, once on a
criminal trespass case and the other on accusations of assault.
District Attorney Matt Powell says Vasquez agrees to surrender his Texas peace
officer's license. The charges had not been formally filed and Powell
says he will not pursue them.
Back in November, Vasquez' neighbors
say he made racial slurs and threatened them with a baseball bat.
County Commissioners are doing
legal research to see if they need to appoint a replacement for
Vasquez. Prior to being a Lubbock County Constable, Vasquez had been a
City Marshal in Anton.
