Family who escaped Okolona explosion meets with LG&E to protect others

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The family involved in the house explosion in Okolona last month has met with LG&E to talk about testing pipes in that area.

On December 6, the Cuelo family escaped an explosion at their home on River Trail Place off Cooper Chapel Road. Investigators say a water line leaked, causing a brick to shift and puncture the gas line.

Amazingly, nobody was hurt.

Mike Allendorf, the Okolona fire marshal, said insurance investigators will take a closer look at the pipes, but no date has been set yet.
