John Boel loves Packers football, ice fishing and telling a good story.
Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, John graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in 1984 with a degree in journalism.
He joins WAVE-TV after a quarter-century of anchoring and reporting the news in Green Bay, Rockford and Louisville. Over the course of his career he has received 70 Emmy awards, including six for Best Anchor. John's other journalism achievements include 39 Associated Press awards, nine Edward R. Murrow awards and two Eclipse awards.
When he is not spending time with his wife Brenda and their two daughters, Kelsey and Brianna, John is probably fishing or training. He has finished more than a dozen marathons and five Ironman Triathlons.
