LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Attorneys for the man accused of shooting a 12-year-old boy over the summer are trying to delay his trial.
A judge had set a trial date in Michael Bishop's case for March 2012, but Bishop's lawyer says talks are continuing for a possible plea deal.
In June 2011, police say Bishop shot Jacob Eberle in the Glenmary subdivision.
Detectives say the 12-year-old and his friends were playing a prank by ringing doorbells in the neighborhood and running away, and that's when bishop shot him.
