CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Police have identified the victim of a deadly car accident on Robious Road in Chesterfield County as 45-year-old William V. Roto of Louisa.
Roto was driving a tow truck on Robious Road around 11:30 Wednesday morning when he drifted off the road into oncoming traffic and struck three vehicles waiting to turn left onto Robindale Road, according to police. The tow truck then swerved back to the right and struck a tree near Robious Road and Knollwood drive, according to investigators.
Roto died at the scene, while two of the other drivers were taken to Chippenham Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officials say neither alcohol nor speed appear to be factors in the crash.
