Girl critical after being hit while crossing street

BARDSTOWN, KY (WAVE) - A Nelson County girl is listed in critical condition after police say she was struck by pickup truck.

According to Bardstown police, the girl was attempting to cross North Third Street in front on the Wendy's Sunday when she was hit.

Police said the girl, who slipped on the asphalt before being run over and dragged, struck her head which caused massive trauma.

The girl, whose age was not released by Bardstown police, is being treated for life threatening injuries at Kosair Children's Hospital.
