LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville family is outraged. Their loved one was murdered last year and the memorial set up to remember him has been repeatedly vandalized.
Jordan Wilson and Shannon Brumfield are heart broken.
The memorial they set up for their cousin and brother, Frank Garrett Coleman, has been vandalized several times.
"It's happened four times," said Coleman's sister Shannon Brumfield. "The first two times they have destroyed it we have put it back up and now everything is gone. Put two and two together you are gonna get it."
"That was my best friend, said Coleman's cousin Jordan Wilson. "I miss him everyday."
Coleman was murdered on May 5, 2011 near the intersection of Woodlawn and Almond Avenue. Police say Coleman got into a fight that carried over into the next day.
Police arrested 21-year-old Robert Norris and charged him with Coleman's murder.
Coleman's loved ones had a memorial shortly after his death. Over the past 8 months, they've set out candles, pictures, wreaths, and stuffed animals to remember him.
But sadly this spot was targeted again Monday.
This time Wilson sat out all night, hoping to find out who was behind it.
"A truck rolled past twice it was a Kentucky blue truck Dodge one with topper on back," said Wilson. "I chased him to Douglas Park and when I got to Douglas Park he jumped sidewalks and everything to get away from me."
"It's hurting my mother, it's hurting us, his friends and family, said Brumfield."What type of evil monster does this."
"Friends or family it has to be someone the suspect knows," said Wilson. "Garrett was loved and cared for through the south end."
Coleman's family says they have filed a report with police.
As for Robert Norris, he is behind bars at Metro Corrections. He will be back in court March 30.
