FORT CAMPBELL, KY (WAVE) – The U.S. Army sergeant charged with murdering his estranged wife and her former mother-in-law will be tried at court-martial next week.
Military officials announced Wednesday that Brent Burke will face a general court-martial beginning Feb. 6.
Burke is charged with violating of three sections of the Uniform Code of Military Justice in connection with the September 11, 2007 deaths of Tracy Burke and Karen Comer inside Comer's home in Rineyville.
Burke was tried four times in civilian courts. Two of those ended in mistrials, the other two in hung juries.
The general court-martial is the most serious level of the military courts.
