MEMPHIS, IN (WAVE) - Fifty pounds of marijuana are off the street thanks to Indiana State Police.
A trooper was on southbound I-65 in Clark County near Memphis, Indiana when he spotted a Ford Taurus he said was following too closely to a semi.
When he stopped the driver, the trooper said he could smell a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from the trunk. That's when he found 50 pounds of pot, with a street value of more than $50,000.
Troopers arrested the driver, 30-year-old Corey Beckwith of Indianapolis, and his passenger, 22-year-old Michael Stokes of Indianapolis.
Both are charged with dealing marijuana.
