Man sets his own home on fire

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man is facing charges of arson after police said he set his own home on fire.

Arson investigators said 52-year-old Alan Cooper set fire to his homes carport in hopes of burning down his home and collecting the insurance money.

Firefighters arrived at the Fairland Place home in time to put out the fire.

Cooper is charged with arson.
