Former MSD Executive Director retires

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The former Metro Sewer District Executive Director has officially retired. MSD Spokesperson Steve Tedder told WAVE 3 Bud Schardein's last day was Wednesday Feb. 1.

Schardein worked for MSD for 27 years and had served as executive director since 2002. A recent audit of the agency showed poor management and wasteful spending.

Greg Heitzman is taking over Schardein's place temporarily.
