LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Tennessee man charged with DUI and murder after a car wreck Sunday night pled not guilty in court Tuesday.
Police said 51-year-old Robert Kempf was speeding on Interstate 71 north Sunday night when he lost control of his car near the Watterson Expressway and flipped several times.
Kempf's passenger and friend, 49-year-old Michael Carr, died in the wreck. Police said Kempf had been drinking.
Kempf's bond was lowered to 250 thousand dollars, half of what it was when he was originally booked, because his attorney argued that Carr's death was not intentional.
Kempf is due back in court later this month.
