LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) -  The identity of a woman found shot to death inside a home in the Wyandotte neighborhood has been released.

The coroner says 48-year-old Lisa Gail Dempsey died from a gunshot wound to the body at University of Louisville Hospital at 1:31 Wednesday morning.

Dispatchers said they received a call to the home in the 4000 block of South 5th Street just before 1 a.m.

When responding officers entered the home, they found Dempsey injured but still alive. Police said she was rushed to University Hospital where she died.

Homicide detectives questioned the homeowner, who was described as a man in his 60s, and say the pair were fighting just before the shooting. Police said he and Dempsey were the only people inside the home when officers arrived.

Investigators were trying to determine whether there was some sort of relationship between the two.

LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell says no charges are pending against the man. He says the case will be turned over to the Commonwealth Attorney's office for review.
