Emergency crews on the scene of Greenscapes in Fern Creek.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Hazmat, MSD and fire crews responded Friday morning to a report of smoke at a Fern Creek landscaping business. Fortunately, the source of the problem turned out not to be hazardous at all.
The initial call of a problem came in to MetrSafe around 8 a.m. Because chemicals were in the building at 11309 Race Road, a hazmat team was brought in to assess the situation.
Kevin Roseberry, vice president of Greenscapes, tells WAVE 3 that an air compressor which blew up caused the problem.
Emergency crews cleared the scene around 10:30 a.m.
