LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Bernard Trager, the founder of Republic Bank, has passed away today at his home with his family by his side. He was 83.
According to a press release, Trager was born and raised in Louisville. He first entered the banking world in 1952.
He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Jean, their daughter, Shelley, son, Steve, as well as his six grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Sunday, February 12 at the Temple, 5101 US Highway 42 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 12:15 p.m.
