Man airlifted to hospital after truck collides with rock wall

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) – A crash that took place just before noon Sunday caused one man to be airlifted to University Hospital.

Kentucky State Police are investigating the crash that happened on Interstate 65 at the 97 mile marker, 3 miles north of Elizabethtown. 

64-year-old Ben Banks of Marion, IN was driving a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck and was traveling southbound on I-65 when the vehicle left the right shoulder of the roadway. The truck hit a large rock and then collided with a rock embankment.

Banks was first transported by Hardin County EMS to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment and later transported to University of Louisville by air ambulance.
