Child taken to hospital after school bus accident

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – One child has been taken to a hospital to be checked after a Jefferson County Public Schools bus carrying special needs children was rear-ended.

The accident involved bus 1102 was reported at 8:25 a.m. a Dixie Highway and Nelson Avenue.

Lauren Roberts, a JCPS spokesperson, said the bus was carrying three students heading for Jacob Elementary when it was hit from behind by a car.

According to Roberts, one of the three students was taken for treatment complaining of neck pain.
